WorldFirst in Pakistan: Fees, Upwork and Withdrawals Explained (2026)

WorldFirst is open to Pakistani freelancers and costs nothing to open or receive into. What it doesn't publish is your rupee rate. Here's how it works with Upwork and Fiverr, and how it compares.

Yes, WorldFirst works in Pakistan. Freelancers can open a World Account without a registered business, get USD receiving details, and take Upwork payouts by ACH. Opening and receiving are free. The catch: WorldFirst doesn't publish the rupee rate or the fee for withdrawing to a Pakistani bank. You only see them in your account, before you confirm.

If you've searched for a Payoneer alternative lately, you've probably seen WorldFirst. It runs a South Asia site full of guides for Pakistani freelancers. When we put the usual getting-paid questions to ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google this week, WorldFirst's guides came up as sources 48 times.

It's a regulated company, and its pages are clear on what's free. They say much less about what you pay when dollars become rupees. What its own pages say, checked on 5 November 2026:

  • $0 to open, $0 a month and $0 to receive, per WorldFirst's freelancer page.
  • 1 to 2 business days for most withdrawals to clear, per the same page.
  • No published rate or withdrawal fee for Pakistan. WorldFirst says fees "are confirmed in your account before you commit."
  • Coming soon: withdrawals to JazzCash and Easypaisa. Not live yet.

The rate matters more than anything else on that list. At the 5 November interbank close of Rs 276.67, reported by Business Recorder, a 1% gap on a $1,000 withdrawal costs you about Rs 2,767.

Key takeaways

  • WorldFirst is open to Pakistani freelancers, registered or not.
  • Opening and receiving are free. The rupee rate and withdrawal fee are not published.
  • Upwork pays into it through Direct to U.S. Bank. Fiverr doesn't support it.
  • Upwork charges $2.99 per Direct to U.S. Bank withdrawal if your tax address is outside the US.
  • Before your first big withdrawal, test $50 and compare the rupees you get with the interbank rate.

Is WorldFirst available in Pakistan?

Yes. WorldFirst lists Pakistan among the 100+ countries where freelancers can open a World Account. It runs a separate South Asia site for Pakistan and Bangladesh. In December 2025, Easypaisa also announced a partnership with WorldFirst so its customers can receive payments from over 100 countries, Aaj News reported.

WorldFirst started in the UK in 2004 and has been part of Ant International since 2019, its South Asia site says. The same site puts its customer count at over 2 million.

Two things are live for Pakistan today:

  1. A World Account with receiving details in USD, EUR, GBP, AUD and more, so clients and platforms can pay you.
  2. Withdrawals to a local bank in rupees. WorldFirst's Upwork guide says you can "withdraw to a local bank account in rupees."

The Easypaisa partnership is a separate thing. It lets Easypaisa customers receive money from abroad into Easypaisa. It doesn't make a WorldFirst account an Easypaisa account.

Can I open a WorldFirst account without a registered business?

Yes. WorldFirst's freelancer page says "both registered business and non registered sole trader type of freelancer can use WorldFirst." You sign up, verify your identity, and add business documents only where they apply. WorldFirst says verification "typically takes a few business days." Some features, like topping up from your own bank, need an upgraded account.

What you need ready:

  • Your CNIC or passport for the identity check.
  • Business registration papers, only if you are a registered business.

Use the same name everywhere. Your WorldFirst account, your Upwork profile and your Pakistani bank should all match your CNIC. A mismatch is the most common reason payments get sent back, as we explained in USD payment returned.

How much does WorldFirst charge in Pakistan?

WorldFirst charges nothing to open an account, nothing a month and nothing to receive payments, its freelancer page says. It doesn't publish its rupee rate or its fee for withdrawing to a Pakistani bank. Its withdrawal guide says fees and times "vary by route and are confirmed in your account before you commit."

So you can't compare WorldFirst on paper before you sign up. Here's its published pricing next to the apps AI answers recommend most for Pakistan:

ProviderGetting rupeesFees
WorldFirstRate not published; shown in your account before you confirm$0 to open, hold or receive; withdrawal fee not published
PayoneerPayoneer lists 1.2% to 4% on withdrawals to a bank1% to receive into a USD receiving account ($1 minimum); $29.95 a year if you receive under $6,000 in 12 months
Elevate Pay"Know exactly what you'll receive in PKR" (no rate published)$0 to receive; $1.50 flat per withdrawal
HandlePayAt the Google rate, within minutesUS account details for clients not open yet

Checked on each provider's own page on 5 November 2026. Fees change, so check before you sign up.

A free receiving account still costs you something later. Every provider in this table earns something when your dollars become rupees, either through a fee or through the rate. The one number that tells you the truth is how many rupees land in your bank for every dollar you sent. We showed how to work that out in why you get fewer rupees than the Google rate.

Can I receive Upwork payments with WorldFirst?

Yes. In Upwork, add Direct to U.S. Bank and enter the routing and account number from your WorldFirst USD receiving account. Upwork keeps a new method inactive for three days. Since 1 September 2026, Upwork charges $2.99 per Direct to U.S. Bank withdrawal when your tax address is outside the US, Self Employed reported.

Step by step:

  1. Open your USD receiving account in WorldFirst and copy the routing and account number.
  2. In Upwork, go to Settings, then Get paid, and add Direct to U.S. Bank.
  3. Check the name. Upwork says the name on the account "must match your real, verified name on Upwork."
  4. Confirm the micro-deposits if Upwork asks. WorldFirst says they land within one to three days.
  5. Wait three days for the method to switch on, then withdraw.

Upwork says ACH deposits arrive "within two to five business days." Then you still need to move the money from WorldFirst to your bank, which adds its own time and its own rate.

Withdraw less often to keep that fee down: one withdrawal a month costs $2.99, weekly withdrawals about $13.

Can I get Fiverr payments with WorldFirst?

No, not directly. Fiverr's payout options are PayPal, Bank Transfer powered by Payoneer, a Payoneer account, and the Payoneer Revenue Card for existing holders. WorldFirst isn't one of them, and PayPal still doesn't open accounts for Pakistan residents. Fiverr sellers in Pakistan still need Payoneer, or Fiverr's own Bank Transfer.

Fiverr's numbers, from its help centre:

  • Bank Transfer (powered by Payoneer): $1 per withdrawal, $20 minimum, 1 to 3 business days.
  • Payoneer account: $3 per withdrawal, $10 minimum, up to 2 business days.

If most of your work comes through Fiverr, WorldFirst doesn't solve your problem. If it's Upwork, Deel or direct US clients, it can.

Is WorldFirst safe and legit?

WorldFirst is a regulated company. Its South Asia site names World First UK Limited, authorised by the UK's Financial Conduct Authority as an e-money institution (firm reference 900508). It's owned by Ant International. Being regulated in the UK doesn't mean your rate is good, so check the numbers before you send large amounts.

How to check it yourself:

  • Search the FCA register for firm reference 900508.
  • Read the account terms before you verify, so you know which entity holds your money.
  • Send a small test first. $50 tells you the real rate and the real time.

How do I withdraw from WorldFirst to a Pakistani bank?

Add your Pakistani bank account in WorldFirst, choose the USD balance to convert, and check the rupee amount and fee on screen before you confirm. WorldFirst says most transfers clear within 1 to 2 business days, though times vary. Withdrawals to JazzCash and Easypaisa are listed as coming soon, not live.

Before you press confirm:

  1. Note the interbank rate that day. Business Recorder and the State Bank publish it.
  2. Divide the rupees shown by the dollars you're sending. That's your real rate, fee included.
  3. Compare the gap. Under 1% is good. Over 2% means you're paying a lot for convenience.
  4. Check the account title matches the name on your WorldFirst account.

We ran the same test across banks, Payoneer and apps in the cheapest way to convert dollars to rupees.

WorldFirst, Payoneer or Elevate Pay: which should you pick?

Pick by who pays you, then by what lands in rupees.

  • Fiverr sellers: Payoneer. WorldFirst can't take Fiverr payouts.
  • Upwork freelancers: any of the three can take Direct to U.S. Bank. Compare the rupee amount on a $50 test.
  • Direct clients in the US, UK or Europe: WorldFirst's multi-currency receiving details are its strongest point.
  • You want a published price: Elevate Pay's $1.50 withdrawal fee and Payoneer's fee page are public. WorldFirst's withdrawal pricing isn't.

FAQs

Opening, holding and receiving are free, WorldFirst says. Turning dollars into rupees is not. WorldFirst doesn't publish its rupee rate or withdrawal fee, so check both in your account before you confirm.
